Portrait of Nina Simmons
The Short Version

I bring the creative and marketing function into focus so leadership doesn't have to.

I'm Nina Simmons, a Creative + Marketing Leader with 15+ years of experience translating business vision into brands, systems, campaigns, and experiences people can understand and trust. I work upstream, helping leadership determine what the brand needs to say, how it needs to show up, and what systems and people are required to execute it consistently.

My experience sits across both Creative Director and Chief Marketing Officer responsibilities: brand leadership, creative operations, marketing strategy, campaign direction, team oversight, and the development of smarter marketing tools and workflows. I've worked with organizations, founders, community initiatives, and growing brands that needed more than creative execution. They needed someone to connect the vision to the work.

In a fractional engagement, I bring senior-level direction, establish standards and systems, guide the people doing the work, and help build a creative and marketing function that can operate with greater clarity and consistency.

Core Competencies

The functions I take responsibility for.

  • AI + workflow integration
02

I identify repeatable marketing problems and translate them into practical tools, apps, automations, and systems that make the work easier to execute and scale.

  • Custom marketing tools + web apps
  • AI-assisted marketing workflows
  • Automation + process design
  • Internal tools for brand consistency
  • Digital systems that reduce repetitive work
03

  • Brand strategy + stewardship
  • Creative and campaign direction
  • Visual + messaging standards
  • Creative team/vendor leadership
  • Executive brand advisory

7+
Years leading the creative function

Atlanta Black Chambers

Creative Operations + Brand Leadership
Situation

Engaged to create event graphics, the deeper challenge was the absence of a cohesive creative function. Branding varied across committees, events, and campaigns, and marketing ran as disconnected projects.

What I Did

Took ownership of the function: unified visual identity, standardized templates and production workflows, brand governance, and creative direction across communications, campaigns, and events, advising the President & CEO and Marketing Director, with every major initiative reviewed before going public.

Result

Creative moved from one-off assets to a scalable organizational function: a recognizable, consistent brand across all member touchpoints, faster production through systems and templates, and stronger sponsor-facing presentation.

2
Brands, one strategic ecosystem

Williams Park

Brand + Marketing Leadership ยท CMO-Level Scope
Situation

Two entities shared one name: a media, technology, and artist-management business, and a recording artist and ministry. Messaging, audiences, and customer journeys were intertwined, and the founders needed an architecture that could support national growth.

What I Did

Led the full brand and marketing scope: brand architecture, positioning, messaging frameworks, audience segmentation, customer journey mapping, direction of two distinct websites, and strategy across community, newsletter, merchandise, and the artist ecosystem. Creative Director and CMO responsibilities in one seat.

Result

Two clearly differentiated brands growing under one shared vision, with distinct customer journeys and a strategic foundation for national ministry, media, and music expansion. An ecosystem, not a collection of services.

3
Specialized markets, one clear position

Janita Green, CPA

Strategic Marketing + Creative Direction ยท CMO-Level Scope
Situation

Engaged to design a brochure positioning a CPA practice around three specialized service areas: NIL, Real Estate, and Health & Wellness. A brochure alone could not carry her expertise or her long-term vision.

What I Did

Stepped back to the business goals and took strategic ownership: repositioned the practice around specialized niches, developed cross-industry messaging, built the presentation architecture for her educational offerings, including NIL content, and expanded the engagement into an integrated brand and campaign strategy.

Result

A practice repositioned from general accounting to specialized-industry expertise, a brochure transformed into a broader marketing strategy, and a strategic foundation for a new brand that emerged from planning.
